Hi,

I need to generate a (static) image in the same style as the mosaic screensaver option in Leopard (that is, I want to convert a photo into an image that is built-up of several hundred copies of other images).

Does anyone know how I can do this? E.g. is there a Quartz Composer file I can use to create such an image? Or is there some specialist software I can use to achieve the same effect?

TIA.

Freeware:
Page personnelle de Pierre Chatelier - MozoDojo

Edit: ****. Crashes on launch in 10.5. Worked fine in 10.4, though.

Yes, great program: I used it to make a mosaic picture containing the maximum of 200 x 200 = 40.000 pics in it.
However, on my MacBook Pro as well on my PowerMac G5 Dual it stalls after a while, in the sense that nothing works any more, so you better make a lot of savings in between, just in case, as the program continues to look for better options even though it has found all pictures.
Good luck.
