So... I did my fair bit of traveling over the past few years, namely a several month stretch in Germany - where I'd lined up a temporary study visa for the purpose of language study. Though I never had the funds/connections to turn it into a long term endeavor, so I returned home and resettled feeling somewhat defeated. But now, a year and a half later, I find myself having quite the itch to go back and with a more long-term-friendly plan.
I've had some solid jobs but nothing that would get me any sort of work sponsorship (nothing skilled). So I'm confronting the fact that my best bet for a European integration may be the thing I've been half way avoiding since graduating high school; University. And aside from a few month stint with community college several years ago, I'm approaching this blind as a bat. Plus I can't think of a single person I know personally whose brain I can pick for how to accomplish this.
Field of study is something I'm fairly open minded on, in spite of the fact that I know what my strengths are. The important thing to me at the moment is more the where than the what.
Anybody done something similar to this? Is it even possible without having your foot well in the door at an American university beforehand? As I said, I'm not dead set on any specific field of study so if there's any particular field which makes for breezy-easy study exchanges, I'm all ears.
Cheers folks.
