I have an original G4 800Mhz iMac- and it is still running great. Admittedly I only use it as a giant jukebox nowadays. However, it is only USB 1 so I can't use it to download songs onto my Touch ( way too slow)

I read somewhere that the Airport slot in the base of the computer is basically just a disguised card-bus slot but I haven't had any luck finding out if it is possible to hack it and add a USB2 card. I would be very grateful if anyone could help me in answering whether or not it is possible.

Many thanks

Highly doubt it.

It may look like standard cardbus, but the signaling is different and unique to the Airport card. It won't work.

If I had one I'd look into gutting it and cramming a Mac mini in there.
