When I insert a blank disk (either to burn a CD on iTunes or a DVD with Disk Utility) my MPB holds its for about 30 seconds and then spits it out. The disk does not spin, or does not spin much, and does not mount. I'm guessing it's a Disk Drive problem.

Recorded CDs and DVDs play fine.

Any suggestions?

I agreed to copy some in-house demonstration DVDs for someone who has already paid me and still waiting. If it's a software issue I can probably find a solution at apple.com, but if it's hardware I need to take my MPB in for servicing and in that case the sooner the better.

Is there any way to determine whether its a software or hardware issue? Like I say, disks play fine, it's just that blank disks won't mount.
