The system-wide behavior that supports horizontal scrolling using a traditional (non-ball) scroll mouse is that you simply hold down the shift key. This worked fine in Safari until the Flashback removal update from Software Update. Now the shift is ignored in Safari, leaving me unable to horizontal scroll. Other apps still support shift-scroll.

Does anyone have an idea how I can fix shift-scroll in Safari?

Using OS X 10.5.8 and Safari 5.0.5

Likely possible using an app like SteerMouse or USB Overdrive.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.
