After much anticipation, I saw the Bourne Ultimatum today. WOW! It was well written, acted, and a fun 2 hours! I really enjoyed how they tied the previous two movies together with it.
I'm not going to spoil it for anyone -- I think it was the best of the 3, what do yall think?

I saw it tonight. I was alright but no real heart.
They all really have the same feel of cat and mouse with some fbi and fancy computers in the middle.

I enjoyed it. Could have used a little more development on the bourne/nikki situation and a little less running around (the roof-top chase went on forever).

Someone please tell me that the director actually realised it's an action film (Identity) and not a hip high school art project (Supremacy).

I tried to see it last night but it was sold out. I'll give it another shot today.

Matt Damon Sides With Bourne Over Bond
By DAVID GERMAIN,
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Matt Damon's amnesiac assassin Jason Bourne shares initials with another notorious screen operative. But other than that, Damon doesn't see any similarities between Bourne and James Bond.
Bond is "an imperialist and he's a misogynist. He kills people and laughs and sips martinis and wisecracks about it," Damon, 36, told The Associated Press in an interview.
"Bourne is this paranoid guy. He's on the run. He's not the government. The government is after him. He's a serial monogamist who's in love with his dead girlfriend and can't stop thinking about her," Damon said. "He's the opposite of James Bond."
Damon said he bumped into former Bond star Pierce Brosnan in London and they chatted briefly about how the British super-spy's movie handlers were trying to update the character with last fall's "Casino Royale," which introduced Daniel Craig as Bond.
Brosnan told him the aesthetics and style of Bond can be updated "but fundamentally, what the character is is something from the 1960s," Damon said.
Paul Greengrass, Damon's director on Universal's "Bourne Ultimatum" and its 2004 predecessor, "The Bourne Supremacy," agreed that Bond is a relic from a different era.
"He's an insider. He likes being a secret agent. He worships at the altar of technology. He loves his gadgets. And he embodies this whole set of misogynistic values," Greengrass said. "He likes violence. That's part of the appeal of the character. He has no guilt. He's essentially an imperial adventurer of a particularly English sort.
"Personally, I spit on those values. I think we've moved on a little bit from all that, the martini shaken, not stirred."
in a nutshell, J.B. != J.B.

Any takers?
What was the camera work like? Motion-sickness inducing?
What was the blocking like?
What was the editing like?
I loved Identity, but hated Supremacy due to the camera work.

Alot more handheld camera work (wish there was less of it) but you get used to it...eventually. Editing was good, some flashbacks done just right, if Supremacy was not good for you because of the camera work don't see Ultimatum.

Cheers for the info.
Comment: Oh man, how to screw up what could have been a brilliant franchise - I was hoping Ultimatum was gonna be more like Identity than Supremacy.

Yeah. I want to see Bourne kick the poopie out of the baddies - not feel like I'm there doing it myself.
(I'm talking about Supremacy - it'll be a while before Ultimatum reaches these shores.)

I agree... I really dislike that type of camera/filming style. Kind of ruined the second movie for me. Maybe I will watch the third on DVD eventually.

Matt Damon was on The Daily Show on Thursday and he made a comment about the shaky camera work. Something about how a friend saw the movie and the only bad thing he said about it was "someone get that guy a ****in steady-cam" or something like that.

If anyone 5.5" tall shot at me I would laugh.

Well, you may think the height of the shooter will affect the fatality of the shot, but the bullet flying at you might not feel the same way.....
I was a little turned off by the camera work at first, but I still enjoyed the movie a lot. I do agree, however, that they could have used a little more development between Nikki and Jason.

They still did the funky camera work, but personally, it didn't distract me like it did before.
By the way, the reason the first one seems different from the other two is because the director of the first one had a case of "creative differences" and was replaced after Identity.

That fatboy on the right is like 5'6". I saw Damon in person when he was making Talented Mr. Ripley. He was something like 5'8" or 5'9". My cousin was also the cook at the hotel in Rome who fed him. Matt Damon loves the Italian food.
How is Bourne Supremacy....was it gay like the first one? I wanted Damon to have sex with Clive Owen in the middle of the field. When he didn't I was sad and didn't watch the rest of Identity and skipped Ultimatum.
ond is "an imperialist and he's a misogynist. He kills people and laughs and sips martinis and wisecracks about it," Damon, 36, told The Associated Press in an interview.

I disagree with Cutey Damon's opinion. Bond saves people. Bourne saves his own ass. Bond needs to drink, screw and laugh or he'll die of stress. Bourne has no time for fun because Clive Owen wants to shoot him and have sex with his frat boy body.

Yes me. Good music soundtrack. Movie is ****. It's the same man goes mad on the ship and kills everyone one by one until only the pretty ones survive. Rule of the genre: kill black actors first.
