I can't figure it out. Every time I make my "main drive" window just the way I like it and log out or restart the Finder, the Window snaps back to some other settings.

I've tried deleting the DS_Store file, but it didn't work. This is a very annoying bug because I like my Window a certain size and shape and it keeps changing on me. What kind of freedom is that?

Try sizing it/setting it the way you like to view it, click on the silver oval in the upper right corner to shrink up the favorites bar, then close the window. Then double click on the drive to reopen the window and click on the silver oval again to reopen the favorites bar. If you close the window again, it should reopen as you left it. I know it's screwy, but that's the way it's worked in OS X for several versions now.
