I'm sure dark theme fans will rejoice
From what I could understand, it's only a mockup... but it looks very promising

Whoa! That's killer, except for the blue text. What the heck is up with that? The other highlights are all white, so why is the text blue (other than the fact that it'll be a readable control text color)?
And why is the toolbar widget on the inside of the titlebar while the x-+ are on the outside?

It's a shame that people spend there time developing themes for all of us to use (for FREE) and the first thing we do is tear it apart with silly comments like "Why is XXXXXXXX" and "It should be XXXXXXX" instead of taking his work for what it is, which is HIS WORK!
I for one love the look of this theme. The blue text is nice because it's readable, unlike the black text we're stuck with right now in nearly every other theme.

I second Mac Dog on that.. it's his theme and he does it whatever way he wants. I like the blue and I don't mind the mixing of blue and white.. I think it's a cool theme.. We might be getting it before Omega.. hehe...

Yeah I think it's great. We really are entering a new era for dark themes, now that ShapeShifter is here to give us coloured text.
This particular one looks really really good. I like the blue text. Why should the text be the same colour as the Widget symbols? It might look a bit plain and monochrome if he did that. The only thing that needs work there is the sliders, which he obviously hasn't got round to doing yet.

Why all the black or very dark themes.
Personally I can't stand using them. And the very dark color dominates the screen kind of like the god awful blue/green crap in windows XP.
Overall it looks nice I hope he'll make a lighter gray version. The progress bars need and little more detail still very nice.

This is also my general feeling about dark GUI's but I am doing JetBlack mostly to add more diversity to my GUI "portfolio".

For one, because SS allows dark themes, everyone's kinda letting it out I think Letting out their frustrations that have piled up over the last couple years.

I'd only use dark themes if there where more cool ones and not so many great light ones.

it looks great so far. some transparent menus and a 4.2 itunes skin with it will be nice. i am tired of shinobi. its the darkest theme out that doesnt use random stripes and stupid button shapes...i would prefer white text with this one but im not making it so do whatever. good stuff so far though...
i guess tuxedo is by the way side?

I like the look of this one - and I like the blue color ... to each his own I guess Same goes for dark vs light themes. I think dark themes are easier on the eyes and have the potential to be better looking, but there not enough out there right now - we need more!

The check boxes look lighter than the other elements. Just a note... maybe have a darker stroke around them.
Edit: Great looking theme by the way!

This isnt possible with ShapeShifter 1.0.X as it uses the Aqua Modification for all windows even if the Windows are Metal, doesnt it?

nope. I believe that screenshot is showing what metal windows look like. ShapeShifter actually nixes the brushed pattern and replaces it with a smooth color, making it blend better. Future releases are said to have the ability to change the look altogether.
Anywho, This theme is going to rock.

Maybe both. Who can give the most teasers the fastest? Who can get the most attention...?
Actually, this theme looks really cool. I'm looking forward to seeing the final results.

Just wondering, but how does he get the gradient titlebar on metal windows? is that possible?
That second shot is sweet, really want to get my hands on it.

you can make the metal window bevels any size, and the bevels support color... so you can really do anything you want with the tops, bottoms, and sides of a metal window. in color, or not.
