Anybody have one of these? Does it work as advertised? Is there something better in the same or slightly more price range? I am not a pro musician and don't need a pro keyboard.

I've got one, it's easy to use, my kids love it. It works very well with GarageBand. There are better ones with more features but they cost more. If you're just going to play around with GarageBand like I and my kids do, it's perfect!

That's basically all I want it for- to play around with GarageBand. I am not sure if it's worth spending a little more now or getting started with this and upgrading later so I wanted to get some comments. Thanks.

If you don't mind one less octave, you can save some $$:

Thats cool too, small and inexpensive but, the M-Audio has the pitch bend and modulation wheels on the left side which is the most entertaining part of all. My kids get a big kick out of it. They play with that part the most(so do I...whah-oh, whah-oh, whah-oh....) it's fun. We have no musical talent what so ever, but the M-Audio(or any keyboard to be honest) combined with Garageband we've been able to create some very good stuff! When we assign the drum function to the keyboard we have a lot fun!

I concurr with the other positive votes. It's a good, solid keyboard for the money and works perfectly with GarageBand. Also, it's bus-powered so you don't even have to dork around with any power-blocks or anything.
