It occurred to me today, while cleaning the dirt stains off of the keys on my keyboard and pulling hairs out from between the keys, that life had to be better than this. Surely someone's designed a keyboard where the top part (containing all the keys) is completely removable and washable? I would give money to such a person for their product, should it be compatible with my wonderful mac.

Please help, madams and messieurs, if you know of such a thing.

Why oh why is the clear plastic keyboard so difficult to take apart?!

Do you not like the new-style Apple keyboards? I absolutely love mine. Stays very clean looking(meaning stuff can get in there I suppose, but you can't see it!)

I like how they look but they, like most keyboards, are difficult to clean. I want to be able to completely submerge the keys in some type of cleaner, perhaps even run it through the dishwasher, and I don't want to spend an hour popping off the keys and putting them back on (and possibly breaking some of the connections). A keyboard that lets you take the entire front off in one go, or something similar, is what I'm looking for. However, I'd also like it to have a design that doesn't compromise the "type-ability" of the keyboard as well.

Another vote for the new Apple keyboards. I took my personal one to work and love it. And others in the office now want one, partially for the feedback and partially because it's easier to keep clean.
