I have not been able to discern how to remove iOS apps from my iOS10 iPhone 6S. In the previous iOS holding down the app's icon caused all icons to "shake" and holding down on that icon the I desired to remove was done so by continuing to do so until an option of choices popped up. Now the background gets blurry and holding down the app opens that app. How can I remove no longer wanted apps using iS10? Thank you!

You're pressing too hard - that activates 3D Touch. Just lightly laying your finger and holding it will do exactly what it used to.

To paraphrase Steve Jobs: "You're pressing it wrong!"

I guess over exuberance was not one of Steve Job's methods. That sounds very unlike him!!!!
