Does anyone experienced with Apple's X11 know how to make other window managers not put windows UNDER the menu bar? quartz-wm seems to know about the menu bar, but others, especially window maker don't (which makes them useless as I can't even move the xterm window). I know XDarwin produces a display which is approx (1024x748) for a 1024x768 display, can X11 be made to do the same?

Sorry if my post is confusing...

You can't eat all those hamburgers, you hear me you ridiculous man?

Different WMs have different parameters that can be set to affect display and other window characteristics.

Type man x from xterm. There is a -geometry parameter that will set default window size and position. It is set in the ~/.xinitrc file.
