You know how sometimes when you're watching, the sound is suddenly cut off to the program, a red bar appears at the bottom, and a harsh warning sound is made as text scrolls along the red bar? I'm looking for that sound effect. It is not this. Anyone know where I can find it?

No sorry, but thanks for looking
The one I'm referring to is kinda chopped up. It's not one long note. Maybe it's only in my region?

I know what you're talking about. Unfortunately I don't have a link.

I live in the Midwest, tornados have touched down within a mile of my house 2 times in the last five years, yet, I have never actually seen my TV go to the EBS message, but we do get those air raid sirens (We use them pretty much exclusively for tornados around here)
And no, we don't really panic over those sirens, just sorta, "Oh, we should probably go to the basement now"

I know the sound you're talking about. It's a really intrusive sound, high pitched. I think it's just a square wave form repeated at half second intervals.

Are you looking for the sound that is put on TV and the Radio once a month? The one that is followed by the horrible quality voice saying "this is a test of the national weather service."
If so, that's not even close to the sirens that have been posted. It sounds more a like a modem.

No, I'm not sure what sound you're talking about but this one is put on whenever there's a "severe thunderstorm warning". However, you're right, it sounds nothing like the ones that have been posted. You're also right that it sounds kinda like a modem, so perhaps we are talking about the same sound.
