Well I compleated my up-to-date order on the 11th, and here on the 27th mine still says 'open'. GRRRR! Apple UK, I will be stunned if they manage to get it to me by Friday.

Yeah, I guess because you Brits all got into a fit about your orders being left aside, they just took the entire store down. On Friday they'll open it again and you can check back to see your orders still on hold.

Right I have rang apple - Couldnt be arsed waiting for it to come back online :o

Spoke to the lady and
I said "I havnt had an email saying my product has shipped and i was told it would be with me by or on the 29th"
She replied "That was an error on the website and its not getting dispatched till Friday"
I said "So when am i likely to get it now"
Her reply "Tueday/Wesnesday next week at the earliest"
I said "You have got to be kidding I could buy it in a shop before then.... are apple offering compensation or anything as we were told wrong!
Her reply "Firstly sorry about the situation... and no unfortunatly apple arnt offering anything, the only thing i can do is cancel your order and refund the money"

Well I didnt cancel the order but i am seriously thinking about it... I could go into town on saturday and collect a copy, dunno what to do? But what i do know if that this is seriously unfair!!!

Living in Ireland (where Apple orders tend to be a little on the slow side...even with their iMac plant a couple hours drive away), I was stunned to get my order today!! I thought it would be next week at the earliest.

I experienced exactly the same issue when Panther was released. Except that I asked the order be cancelled and was informed that this would take place.

So I went out and bought a copy from a shop only to find that about 2 weeks later my original order from Apple arrived. So I ended up buying 2 copies!

I said to myself then that I would never order from the Online UK Apple Store, but, of course I have.

I even sent a letter of complaint to Apple but never received any replies or acknowledgement.

I have been a Mac user since 1984, and am a fanatic, but I have to say that in my opinion Apple UK Suck bigtime.

I Wouldn't have used the online store ether, but as mine was an 'up-to-date' order. So I didn't have a choice .
Everybody in the UK who doesn't get there coppy by Friday (and orderd it early enough) should email Steve. A mailbox full of unhappy Apple UK customers should get a fire lit under someones ass.

If I were you guys (Noonster et al) I would cancel and pick up a copy from John Lewis or somewhere on Friday. Problem is that with no edu discount, it'll cost you 30 more

For me, i'm far to impatient to wait until Tuesday

I have been thinking this myself....
And i would be the same HOWEVER I am away from Saturday morning till Monday lunch, so waiting till tuesday is not that much of a problem and would rather save the 30 than cancel and only be able to play for a day.

IF I wasnt going away then i would defo cancel and pick it up in store!!

The order status page is completly unreliable in my opinion. I have received several orders before the site ever even listed the item as shipped.

Well, I was so excited to see a "it's shipped" notice in my e-mail. Unfortunately, it's my Land's End jeans...

My status still: Preparing shipment. Darn.

I ordered edu about a week and a half ago and I just got the "order shipped" message from Apple. I did order via Apple.com. It's being sent FedEx 2Day Service from Cordova, TN (I'm in Austin, TX). However, I ordered two items (OSX and iBook warranty). One comes by Thursday at 4:30 and the other Friday at 4:30. I will assume OSX is the latter... but it would be nice if I got it tomorrow.

I'm in the US. I ordered it through Apple Store Education online on 4/18. It now says "Preparing Shipment." It says estimated ship on or before 4/28 with 2 day delivery listed. Go Go Go!!

Their order status must be seriously fudged if you received it and it still shows Preparing Shipment. I can see the status on mine now, and it shows the same.

Well don't fret yet, if the status is messed up for some, it could be that your status is messed up too.

I ordered the morning of the 12th (Educationally), and while as of this morning they're still "Preparing Shipment," I will not be surprised if it's shipped FedEx Overnight tomorrow (I'm close enough to Cupertino, or wherever Apple's North Bay shipping place isI think that's what happened to me with Panther as well). Hoping it /will/ come Friday though. *crosses fingers*

Mine was ordered on the 22nd -- and the notice finally changed to "shipped!" It actually shipped several hours ago, but the info just changed within the past hour or so. It's still in TN -- scheduled for delivery before 4:30 p.m. Friday.

has anyone had their up-to-date order shipped yet, or are they leaving those 'till last? my up-to-date order is still sitting at "processing order". mind you, I haven't gotten my new powerbook yet anyhow, since Apple keeps pushing back my ship date on that as well (ordered it on the 20th, it was supposed to ship yesterday, but now they're listing it as shipping on or before May 2nd).. grr..

I got the same thing. Then a few hours later it changed to "shipped." (And the thing shipped hours earlier.)

I checked a while ago and my Tiger has even left TN. I'm hoping to get it tomorrow. (Though, honestly, I think I'll just read the stuff and get my system all in shape. I really don't have time to play with it yet.)

I put in an order for the Up-To-Date Tiger on the 13th, and am still sitting on Processing Order. Apple.Com people say it should ship tomorrow, but kinda skeptical about it, maybe west coasters ARE getting overnight shipping.

I ordered my uptodate on the 17th, and still processing for me too. It says ship on or before the 29th. (I am in Michigan).

Does yours say the same thing about shipping by the 29th??
