Hi all, this is my 1st post. I was just wondering if anyone knows for sure if iBook lcd screens are interchangable? I have an iBook dual usb 500 and Ive seen on eBay that someone is selling a display, and claims it will fit a clamshell and dual usb 500 etc...... I can get my hands on a clamshell lcd for a decent price and would like to know if it would be work in my iBook?

I would be a bit surprised that the screen of the dual USB iBook works fine with a clamshell as the resolution is not the same.

You can exchange the diplay. But it is smarter to exchange the backlight for only a few dollars here for example. 69.90 and your lcd should look like new. It might be even cheaper if you find an electronic parts shop. I have seen backlights for 15$.

But the clamshell display is definitely not what you want.
