Now that the Linkin Park catalog is available on iTunes, who do you wish was there that isn't?

Personally, I'm a big Beatles fan, but I can care less if they are on iTunes since I have all of their music already. My guess is they'll be among the last to sign on.

Who else is missing? And who will be the last to get on the bandwagon?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Beatles never go onto iTunes. Which is a shame, because already the iGeneration is growing up without knowledge of the Beatles.

I was thinking the same thing as to the Linkin Park reference.

And I have no idea who'll be last... I don't really listen to any major artists... Indie stuff is far more fun.

They are waiting for their new remastered catalouge to become ready before they put it online.

I know nothing about audio or file formats, but what is the point of postponing and online release of a remastered catalog if it's just going to be released in AAC?

Well, for starters they'll have a better stereo mix. Compare the 1999 remixed release of Yellow Submarine with the original for a glimpse of what can be achieved.

They'll also have a much cleaner base to start with which will in turn result in much better sound quality - even when compressed.

I kinda like the Beatles the way they are. Fuzzy, with instruments out of tune, etc.

When do you think this remastering will be released?

Well, remastering doesn't necessarily mean smoothing things up. The original sound will be prepared, and judging by Let It Be Naked even rawer and crisper.

And they definitely won't re-record or auto-tune any out of tune instruments

As for release dates:

We've heard that EMI does indeed plan Beatles remastered CDs. We've heard that the plan for releasing them is that the release dates will be timed toward significant anniversaries, which means the discs won't be released all at once. (And we know you're wondering when the first one is coming. Sorry, but there's no info as of yet. EMI has already missed a couple of "significant anniversaries," of course. One could hopefully speculate, however, that the 40th anniversary of "Sgt. Pepper" on June 1, 2007, won't go by quietly.) (Note: This info, if used elsewhere in any form, must be credited to Abbeyrd's Beatles Page.)

I really do think this is happening. Sure, anyone into music knows who the Beatles are... but there are people out there that don't.

I'm not a major fan, but I like their music... my niece said "who are they?" and I didn't know weather to laugh or cry.

Cry. Unless she's under 10 years old.

Everyone knows/has heard a Beatles song. I guess just not everyone knows it.

A generation without the Beatles is a pretty sad thing. They played a big part in my youth, my appreciation for music, and my general love of artistry.

Sgt. Pepper's got me through many bus trips with the baseball team.

Beatles has obviously featured a whole lot more in my listening these days since I got their complete discography and when shuffled with all my other music I constantly check if it really is the Beatles, hearing the first few bars of a song, as some of their music sounds as modern as anything "alternative" today.

Beatles truly rocks. I grew up with it and my kids will too.

One of my favorite bands is not on iTMS.

Tool

But thats OK, I always buy their CD's anyways, since their package design is always something to behold.

Seeing as the package design is the only good thing about Tool it's not a big loss.

I'm wondering where the hell Led Zeppelin is.
