Linking this:

CBC Television : Test the Nation

Gives me this:

test

EDIT:

Now it works.

For a while it was giving me something completely different. The link wouldn't work, and I'd get a link of "MacNN | ...etc"

I still can't browse the lounge archives. If I set the date-filter pop-up menu to "beginning" it just reverts to "last 10 days" which obviously shows no results.

Two exemplary quotes and my reply ... in the hopes of not having to type the same reply too many times:

Well, aside from the fact that it was keeping me quite busy, the "job in Germany" wasn't really the problem. The problem was the fact that my parents (where I stayed while being in Krautland) live in the fscking boonies, and that - after 10 days of me being there, the very day on which I was supposed to get satellite DSL - the turds from the German Telekom managed to to mangle up my dad's phone system so badly that from there on out I didn't have any internet access at all. Aside from what little internet you can get when you use your cell as a GSM modem (pricey, preposterously slow), that is.

Anyway, I've actually been back for a a good week and a half now, catching up on piles of emails that went unanswered for two and a half months, all the while still working on my "German job" (which, btw, will continue until the end of the summer).
Now that I've caught up a bit, here's what's going to happen in regards to the forum fixes:
  1. compile a list of bugs over the next couple of days (~3-5)
  2. prioritize said list by severity and est. amount of time required to fix the respective bug
  3. squeeze in an hour or three here and there a couple of times a week to get rid of bugs
  4. there's no #4, just looked better that way.

Fire away.

I'm not sure if the Search feature was changed - it once worked. No matter what I search for, nothing ever shows up.

I tried searching for the search feature, but nothing also came up.

scratch that: apparently no one in the forums has a battery backup or a UPS.

Who has been playing with the forum colours?
The grey is too dark:

Tested on Ubuntu, Windows with FF 2.0.0.4

EDIT: Ah the resizer is back, I guess one of the Admins is just fixing the forum then.

Thirded. There's too much contrast with the dark and light alternating like that. The key is subtlety.

And as well as the stripes, the quick reply and link boxes just look wrong!

The image resize needs improvements back to its normal self.

EDIT: Fifthed, the gray is very annoying and hurts my eyes

Could you make it so that the "User Cp" page's "(Unsubscribe from this Forum)" links require additional feedback to remove? Sometimes I click on unsubscribe on accident, and it does it without asking me twice like it does when you SUBSCRIBE.

This was a complaint from back before the forum was changed, so it's nothing eff screwed up.

Any reason why the date is on the left bottom now? It seems a bit crowded now, and as if every post has been edited.

Same reason everything is skipping and jumping back and forth at the moment: the new admin is trying to fix bugs. Unlike effgee, he doesn’t have the luxury of working first on an offline version, honing to almost-perfection and then testing it online. He also doesn’t have the (perhaps somewhat dubious) advantage of having toiled with this design for over a year, so he probably doesn’t know its inner workings and quirks as well as effgee does.

I hear ya, but was this ever a bug? It seemed fine before.

Nope, it was never a bug before. He probably tried some little CSS trick to fix another bug, and it had the unintended side effect of also moving the date/time down below posts.

Time stamps are back up the top now, they were borked before though, in the sense of posts appearing in the wrong order.

Edit: Mine has just appeared on the right instead, spoke too soon =/

In case you haven't seen it, there is a new 'fixations' thread detailing the changes he's making.
