Could you possibly post the dimensions of the laptop pocket? I know Crumpler has posted them, but they're not particularly accurate and in fact, don't make much sense (their height is longer than their width measurements), and I've seen slightly different measurements on www.crumplercanada.com.
Basically, if you've got a new 15.2 AL book, does it fit, and with how much room?
Thanks,
I have both a PB and a 15.4 inch compaq to fit into this.

Thanks for letting me know. Is it a bit of a tight fit, or is there some wiggle room and flexibility on the sides? I'm worried because I have a 15.4 Compaq which also needs to fit into the laptop sleeve. It's about 14 inches across, but I've found that it fits into sleeves labelled 13".
However, it's pretty much moot. I saw a new Crumpler WOP for about $55 USD, so I couldn't pass it up.

Sorry, a one off deal, $75 CDN. I just hope I can squeeze this behemoth into it. It's about .8 cm bigger than the PB.

Wack-o-phone? I have the previous model that looked a bit different on the outside. I do believe the dimensions are the same.
As far as the laptop pocket in the back of the bag:
My TiBook did NOT fit.
The AlBook does NOT fit.
My Dell Latitude D610 fits fine.
I repeat, the place where the laptop is supposed to go does NOT fit the Ti/Al books. It is too narrow to fit the laptop.
I used a waterfield sleevecase and put it in the main compartment.

I Use my Wack-o-Phone with a 12"pb. With the pb in there, I can fit all my accessories ( cables, chargers, bt mouse, and my ipod + dock), a 1.5" binder, small text book, a few cd's and magazines nicely. Once everything is in, it gets pretty tight as there is lots of padding around the laptop compartment and the bag itself (this is my first laptop bag so I don't know what the paddng is like in others).
With a 15" laptop (I tried it with friends 15" PC laptop), it fit perfect into the laptop compartmet. However, with an extra padded sleeve, you'll have a hard time getting it in and out of the laptop compartment. Anyways, the laptop compartment has lots of protection so you should not need a sleeve.
Overall, the bag is very comfortable, durable and I love the fact that it does not look like a laptop bag. As well, the orange interior of my bag has led to discoveries of change and other small stuff. BTW check out http://www.storeos.com/crumpler/ I bought my bag from him as he let me see the bag before I bought it.

Guess the new one fits the 15" Tibook and Albook just fine. If you get the older one, trust me, it won't fit.

Just got it. The whack-o-phone fits my 15.4 Compaq, but just barely. Really, it doesn't fit, but I've made it fit. The laptop is over 14" wide, but does make it into the laptop compartment, just barely. I hope the sides stretch a little bit.
Thanks for all who replied,

Ummm...I've had my Crumper since Dec. of 2001. I've had my Powerbook G4 667 DVI since July of 2002. I've never needed another big to lug my PB around.
So you're wrong, and I'm right.

Please could you stay awhile to share my grief, for its such a lovely day to have to always feel this way.

Like I said, they may have changed dimensions from the version I have and the one you have, SuperGroove. But I got one on March 03, 2003, from REI, and here are some pictures of it and a 15" AlBook NOT fitting.
Sorry for the quality, camera phone.

Black/green - the bag is up for sale now, if you're interested. It's just not big enough . . . dman, I liked it too . . .
$85 Canadian + shipping ($85 flat for pickup) if you're interested.

Crumpler bags suck technically. Their proprietary fabric, Chickentex is a fake Cordura Knockoff they began using when they went off-shore (they were made in Australia) to vietnam many years ago. It frays badly, especially where stiched.
The suck part is their prices went UP when they went off-shore and started paying $5 for what you paid $80 for.
If you want a good laptop or shoulder bag, made from real Cordura, in the country its sold from, try REload, comparable price and way cooler, tougher. Fact is, messengers will use REload products, they haven't used Crumpler since they went off-shore and the quality went to hell, along with the company ethics. Or look around, other mesenger bag companies make laptop bags and they tend to make the best.

No, I was really annoyed to read through most of this thread and find out that it was 2.5 years old.

2 years old? **** I was just googling ["messenger bags" laptop] and saw unwitting praise for Crumpler, thought I'd write something so people wouldn't throw down for fake messenger bags to hold the laptop. sry
