Excerpts from her Wikipedia article:

* On January 11, 2007, several more inconsistencies came to light after the defense filed a motion detailing her interview on December 21, 2006.[43] For example, she changed details about when she was attacked, who attacked her, and how they attacked her:[43]

* Mangum claims she was attacked from 11:35 p.m. to midnight, much earlier than her previous accusations.[44] This new timing is before the well-documented alibi evidence for Reade Seligmann that places him away from the house.[43] However, the defense revealed that this new timing would suggest Seligmann was on the phone with his girlfriend during the height of the attack.[43] Additionally, she received an incoming call at 11:36 p.m. and somebody stayed on the line for 3 minutes, which would be during the alleged attack according to the new timetable.[44]
* The new statement contradicts time stamped photos that show her dancing between 12:00 and 12:04 a.m.[43] It would also mean that they stayed at the party for nearly an hour after the supposed attack since Kim Roberts drove her away at 12:53 a.m.[43] In her April statement, Mangum said they left immediately after the attack.[44]
* Mangum changed the names of her alleged attackers, saying they used multiple pseudonyms. While Dave Evans went by "Dan, Adam and Brett," Reade Seligmann used the names "Adam and Matt," while Collin Finnerty either did not have a name or was not called by name, Mangum claimed.[43]
* The accuser also changed her description of Evans.[43] She previously claimed that she was attacked by a man that looked like Evans except with a "mustache," but more recently stated that the assailant just had a "five o'clock shadow."[43]
* Mangum claimed that Evans stood in front of her, making her perform oral sex on him.[43] Previously, she stated that Seligmann did this.[43] In the latest statement, she stated that Seligmann "did not commit any sex act on her ... [H]e said he could not participate because he was getting married."[44] Although he has a girlfriend, there has never been anything to suggest he was engaged or getting married.[44]
Shame on her for making obviously bogus accusations. Someone counted five totally different accounts that she gave to authorities.

I think it is appropriate that she is being flashed across web sites and television screens now, seeing that she tried to manipulate the system, using such sensitive issues as rape and racism to her advantage. Three guys' seasons and college days were absolutely ruined because of these allegations, and it's something that they'll have to live with for the rest of their lives.

They played a part in getting themselves into the predicament, but I can't help but feel a bit peeved on their behalf.

This is the kind of stuff that sets race relations WAY back.

"Michael Byron "Mike" Nifong (born September 14, 1950) is the Democratic district attorney for Durham County, North Carolina (the state's 14th Prosecutorial District). He is probably best known for his extremely poor judgement."
Where was a good neo liberal when you needed one.

The authorities think she may actually believe the many stories she told... something in her sealed mental health records lead them to that conclusion. Souce and DUI arrest records

Indeed, the original D.A. made a poor gamble when he assumed the Duke students would be found guilty no matter what. Now it has backfired on him and he didn't count on the resources the players families had for their defense. Accusations shouldn't be believed automatically but they often are for political reasons-- and sadly a lot of innocent people without money go to jail because of them. It would seem that if you are a man and a woman accuses you of rape than the burden lies on the accused rather than the accuser--an inverse of what it is legally supposed to be.

Only because people seem to relate immorality and possible mental illness with race. Point being, racists will find evidence wherever different races coexist.
Do you want forgiveness or respect?

You're really embarrassing yourself by using a term that has an established usage and meaning and using it to mean something else just because you happened to make a clever that made you chuckle in the bathroom one morning.

(Edit: Just to clarify that neoliberals are actually the complete opposite of what you appear to think they are - Neoliberalism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia )
