I have a Time Machine backup on a Time Capsule that is obviously corrupt -- when Time Machine runs, deletes a previous backup and then stops and ejects the time machine disk image. I ran Disk Utility on it for over 12 hours, and it definitely found problems, but the repair process never ended.

I think I should start with a new sparebundle image (Time Machine was using one that I had created manually to limit the maximum size), but I'd like to try to copy the files from the old sparseimage file to the new one. Is this possible? Since the two files would have the same name (Nameofbackupmachine_ethernetaddress.sparsebundle) , I would have to copy the old image to my desktop and then copy its contents using Disk Utility to the Time Capsule, right?
