I was reading about the much postponed release of Microsoft's Longhorn, which is now scheduled for release next year. (see: http://news.com.com/An+early+peek+at...ml?tag=st.pop).

Apparently MS are thinking of changing the name of the system just before release, presumably to make it seem new! How long since XP came out? Five years? I know there's some worry that the Powermac range is not making fast progress, but c'mon, it's not all about speed - look what the grey box people have to put up with. 5000 viruses in 6 months, zombie mome PCs etc.

Remember the Window's '95 hype when they used The Rolling Stones "Start Me Up" as the theme tune for the TV ads? We were all laughing about how the next part of the verse (which they did'nt use) went "you'd make a grown man cry". Ha ha.

Any suggestions for a theme tume to accompany the release of Longhorn? To get you started, my suggestion is "Long Time Coming" by suitably named up and coming UK band Delays! A great song, which has been used on TV before. Any other thoughts/suggestions?

Miami Vice. They should also have a white and black guy, big shoulder pads, mullets, bare feet in leather flats, white slacks...a mardi gras...
