A client of mine had a bit of a car crash earlier this week. Car was totaled but he was fine. His MacBook however was in the back of the car, inside a neoprene case inside his bag.

He has no memory of the actual crash, but the whole front of his car from the front screen on is currently missing.

The MacBook obviously took a hit somehow. It now looks like this:

Frankly I'm surprised it didn't crack. It's simply bent. The case, lid AND screen have all bent. No cracks anywhere. And it looks way more bent in real life than in these pictures too!

It would be great to say "and it still booted up. Good old Apple, they build them tough." but it doesn't. It's scrap. Drive is OK though, just hauling all the data off it now.

That's a plastic BlacBook? No cracks? Weird.

Was there a fire?

Glad he's OK.
