Since I installed Tiger, I occaisionally get a noise from my Superdrive as if it was trying to eject a disk. Sometimes it happens when I bang on a key, sometimes just when it's sitting there.
When a disc is in the drive, it never happens.
Any ideas?

You kind of forgot to mention what machine.
I get this occasionally on my 15" powerbook when I lift it with one hand on the side of the Superdrive, flexing the casing. Almost like it's a brief short-circuit that will trigger teh eject mechanism.

I get it on my 15" 1.5GHz too. 10.4.3 (if that's anything to do with it).
Scares me

I used to believe I was hearing the sound of my Superdrive ejecting on my G5, but the tray would remain closed. Not the same thing as the PB issue obviously, but I thought I'd mention that.

I get a similar sound from my PB12" 1.5ghz when it is sleeping. Here I thought it was awake, but no.
