I don't have either an Intel Mac or the PowerMate, so I'm probably a poor source of information, but I'll try anyway

Are you running it through Rosetta or using native software?

Only thing I can come up with...sometimes the most obvious answer is the hardest to see.

I was so disappointed in the iMate! I thought it was some sort of device to help me get a girlfriend, but then it just turned out to be some sort of ADB adapter.

(sorry, I'm in a silly mood lately. I can't help with your issue, unfortunately)

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

The iMate works on my intel iMac. I just plugged it in and it went through the keyboard identification.

Oh wait, PowerMate =! iMate this is what I have http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imate/
