Why can't I move a document, file, folder or application using a contextual menu item? I'm running OSX 10.6.8 and really miss where, under Jaguar, I had contextual menu plugins that would let me hit control + trackpad click and under the contextual menu items I had the options to move a file to anywhere I designated, I could copy a file, I could make an alias and more. I can't believe that my only way to move a file is to drag and drop. Please say that's not all there is.

Whatever you had under Jaguar was not stock.

IIRC, Apple added a "Move File here" to the Finder/contextual menu in Lion 10.7.
It is invoked by Cmd-opt-V, or by holding the option key in the context menu ("Paste" should turn into "move file here").

Under 10.6, File Cutter and Move Addict appear to be working third-party tools to do what you want, but I cannot vouch for either.
