Am I the only one, or is anyone else having logging in problems with the Mail.app? The app won't retrieve mail from the server (fortunately, I had set up forwarding all dot mac mail to hotmail).

Yes, I saw that, did their "walk-around" ... and nothing happened.

So you're having trouble with your .mac mail and not just the email program Mail.app, right? I've been having some trouble myself lately. It's been better in the past few hours, but before that it was completely unable to retrieve messages.

Best advice anyone gave me for Apple Software updates-

before one runs any and all Software updates
Always "Repair Disk Permissions" (ar la Disk Utility)

If that fails I run "Cache Out X" but only select appropriate elements

I've had chronic problems with just about everything connected to dot mac: the mail, backup, iDisk synching. Backup JUST started working after a year. And it beats the hell out of me why it started working! Keychain Utility crashes as soon as I fire it up, though I'm beginning to think that the last update is responsible. Spinning beachballs galore, especially Safari. And don't say I need more RAM: I've got 8 gigs plus broadband ... it's the apps.
