There are a few mixes I want to make booklets for. Anyone use some kind of device or something for stapling the booklet together?

Stapler?
Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.

Um, like I wouldn't have thought of that already . Staplers are too short and you can easily misalign them. I thought I saw a device a few years ago that you put he paper down and it punched two staples for you.

I make a lot of mockups at work. Here's what you do.

Fold your booklet and align it on the edge of a cardboard box so the center fold is on one of the right angles on the outside of the box. Take a thumbtack and poke two holes where the staples will go. (Use a staple to line up the holes) Stick straight staples through the holes and bend them manually.

Either that or take them to Kinko's. they have a machine that will do it in about 2 seconds. Not sure what they charge, but it shouldn't be much. 8 years ago, it was 5ยข a staple.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

My office has a deep throated stapler (quit snickering kids). It works well for that. You can also get a stapler that staples | instead of --. Take a look at it here:
Mini Booklet Stapler, Staples up to 15 Sheets, Dark Gray at Instawares

Go to a small commercial printer and ask nicely if they'll stitch it for you. They probably will for free if it really is only a few.
