Club: Andy Dick groped, offended, urinated - CNN.com

The guy really isn't funny, and he's beyond inappropriate. If he came on stage at a club I was in, I'd probably just leave. I generally find crude humor to be pretty funny, but this guy is just crude without the humor.

He's a mess. At least he stopped trying to pretend he wasn't gay.

I knew he was an ass, but after reviewing his Wikipedia entry - I see you have a very valid question.

Comedian and actor Jon Lovitz has long blamed Andy Dick for reintroducing Phil Hartman's wife Brynn to cocaine (after 10 years of sobriety) just five months before she would murder her husband and commit suicide.
Wow, now I understand why Lovitz smashed Andy's head into the table!

He's living up to his name, that's all.

Wouldn't pay him for that though...

He's not a comedian. He's a public boor.

I saw him walking out of Sony Style store in a mall in California once.

He didn't pee on me.

That's all.

I read somewhere that John Lovitz kicked Dick's ass awhile back.

Found it. http://www.starmuscle.com/2007/07/18...-lovitz-fight/

The same goes for Joe Rogan. I don't care what else they do -- they already won me over for life.

That sounds shallow considering the latest antics. I mean I like him on air, but if he is an ass hole in society or worse, really judgement should not be based as their capability as a character 8 yrs ago.

I've always found Jon Lovitz to be too whiny and annoying to watch for more than 15 seconds at a time. Now that I've learned he smashed Dick's head into a bar, I at least have far greater respect for him. I still don't think I'll watch his act though.

That such a cretin could have a show biz career suggests the depths to which this society has sunken without religion infused in our woof and warp.

He was kind of funny on news radio... but really not all too great.

And Abe... please don't try and derail this thread with that kind of talk. Seriously.

What is the future for insult comics, shock-jocks, and absurdist comedy? How far will they have to go to go too far? I mean, no one is actually shocked by Andy Dick, just irritated. Michael Richards tried to push the boundaries, true; but without great comedic effect. Who does that leave? There's always Triumph... for me to poop on!

I meant professionally, not personally. Being a member of the greatest sitcom ever excuses any number of Less Than Perfects or Fear Factors. From the little I know about his personal life, he seems kind of sad (to put it mildly).

Dick was funny on News Radio because News Radio was funny. I think the writers did a fantastic job of writing to each actor's strength. The fact that Dick (and Rogan) hasn't done anything funny since is pretty much proof that they had the show the thank for their success and not the other way around.

What I've read about the writers of that show is great. For a couple episodes they didn't even bother giving them real titles, they just named them after Led Zeppelin albums, going so far as to name them Led Zeppelin IV after the box set.

Four the three weddings in a funeral Must See TV, they got stuck with the funeral, so they made it the Rat Funeral episode. They fought NBC on so much content. The wiki entry is just great.

Actually, it's named "Led Zeppelin Boxed Set." It's the season 3 episode where Matthew punches Bill and claims to become the alpha male of the office ("Look at all my sweet bitches") and Jimmy tries to outwit a three-card monte dealer. The other Zeppelin-titled episodes are all in the second half of season 2 ("In Through the Out Door," "The Song Remains the Same," "Zoso," "Houses of the Holy," "Physical Graffiti," "Led Zeppelin," "Presence," "Coda," and "Led Zeppelin II").

BTW, Led Zeppelin IV is actually Zoso, not the box set.

That's certainly true in general, but the writers have also said that Andy, Joe, and the other cast members added things to the script that were kept. Maybe being around funny people just rubbed off on them.
