OK, weird scenario but I installed Photoshop C2 on m Macbook and had to uninstall as it kept crashing...

*** QUESTION ***
I was debating installing Photoshop 7.0 on m MacBook. It is an upgrade CD, so on a PPC Mac, I would have installed it, inserted the 6.0 CD to finish the install...However, since the 6.0 is PPC "Classic" will my Intel-based Mac be able to complete the install???

ADOBE ARE YOU LISTENING? Get the Universal aps launched already!!!

You do not need to install the old version to install the new one.

Some versions of PS let you just enter both serial numbers, for the new and the old version.

Other versions let the new installer use your old CD for verification. In that case: Copy the PS7 installer to the hard disk, then eject the PS7 CD.

Then run the installer from the hard disk. It will then ask you to verify that you have the installer for an older version, so you insert the PS6 CD. It'll then proceed with the install.

Tooki, you are the best!

I just loaded Photoshop 7.0 on my Blacbook per your suggestion to copy the installer on my desk top. All I had to do was input the 6.0 serial number. It works like a charm now - unlike the PPC version of C2. Given my elementary Photoshop skills, 7.0 should suit me just fine until teh Universal Binary version comes out next year!!!
