So I just got the new Base Station and have connected my hard drives to them. They work perfectly and I have no complaints . . until now.

Before getting the base station, I held all my music on my iMac (~60GB). My roommate and I would like to be able to dump all our music onto one drive, so we can both access the music and upload them to our ipods.

I tried transferring my iTunes folder from my iMac to the Network Hard Drives and right in the middle of it, it says I do not have sufficient privledges. Then when I tried to erase what I've copied over to the Hard drive, it says I can't because I don't have sufficient privledges. So, here are my questions

1) Did I transfer it the right way? if not, what is the right way?

2) Why are the privledges warnings coming up?

I don't think that many here have the Airport Extreme yet.

Might I suggest that you first connect the hard drive to your computer to transfer the music. It will be faster. As for permissions, did you set them up properly in the Airport Utility?

How did it come to this? Goodbye PowerPC. | sensory output

1. Connect HD to Mac. Move iTunes Music folder to disk.
2. Attach HD to AEBS.
3. Set up DiskSharing on AEBS.
4. Launch iTunes and tell it where the music folder now is.

More details here.
