I noticed the other day in my download folder a lot of disc images from applications I've downloaded. So the question is do I still need these disc images after I've taken the program and any needed documents from it?

If you have copied the contents of the disk images into your Applications folder or elsewhere, no, you don't need the images.

You’ll need them only if you want or have to re-install these applications. As long as you’re optimistic to be able to get any of these applications (or a newer version) anytime again from the web you won’t need these images any more. Otherwise and if you don’t have to care for hd space, put them into a folder and when it’s big enough burn them to a DVD, so you have an archive of your installed software.

Thanks for the replies.
I was thinking I only needed them in case I needed to reinstall it again. I'll probably do what you said Moonray and put them in a seperate folder. And if I run out of hd space I can copy them to a disc or delete them.
