As I'm sure some of you may have heard, Dan Aykroyd recently did a radio interview where he confirmed that Ghostbusters III is alive once again. The plan is for it to be a CG animated film, as it would be cheaper, a hell of a lot easier to do and was the only way Bill Murray would agree to be in it.

Click on the second part of the interview.

Still, a sequel is a sequel and having Bill Murray at least doing the project in one shape or another is great news in itself. I just hope this one turns out better than Ghostbusters II did.

Slick shoes?! Are you crazy?!

That's a shame.
I think it's because Hollywood is financially afraid to make a film without a guaranteed instant audience.

Can't they just let an OK film die? They had the first one (GREAT!)... then they had the second film (NOT AS GREAT)... and now this...

Murray, Ramis and Aykroyd are damn good actors, especially in comedy. By making Ghostbusters a cartoon all the subtle humor - which is the genius - is lost.

A properly voiced Ghostbusters cartoon is great, but still. It's just not the same.

I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

Puke!

They need to rethink this and go with the original team w/ live actors. Age isn't a concern - hell, Ford is doing another Indiana Jones.

Ghostbusters 2 was quite good....

Murry needs to lighten up and do a live action flick. Though they`re all rather old these days... and have you seen the shape some of them are in?

CGI would suck.

Well, TMNT is CGI...not that it was part IV or anything but hey, it may work out.

Good news, because Bill Murray really has done some fantastic voice over for outstanding CGI stuff...

...nevermind.

I was under the impression Murray and Ramis haven't spoken to each other since they made Groundhog Day.

Ramis counts himself among the excluded. Despite also working as co-stars in Stripes and both Ghostbusters movies, the two haven't spoken in 12 years. Ramis claims he no longer recalls what precipitated the silence, and Murray says only, "We had a falling out." Nevertheless, Ramis requests, "If you could please attach the words 'he said affectionately' to every quote of mine, I'd really appreciate it because I had and have great affection for Bill. It goes unexpressed and unconsummated at this point, but I'd love to do something with him again."
From this 2005 article. I guess they've made up?

I heard that Universal bought the rights from Sony. This could only mean that Dreamworks will be making Ghostbusters III. (Universal purchased Dreamworks awhile back)

Too bad Disney didn't buy the rights. I WOULD LOVE to see Pixar make an animated Ghostbusters movie with Brad Bird at the helm.

Slick shoes?! Are you crazy?!
