I have been able to install windows XP (no sp2) into my bootcamp partition. My problem is that is seems to have no network/internet drivers. I have looked and tried everything to connect to the network with no luck. My plan, once connected is to download SP2.

I also have a copy of Virtual PC which came with XP_Pro_ SP2. Would run it in my old lamp imac to do some publisher work. Very , very, slow. Is there a possibility of using this to get up and running in bootcamp. Spending $200 on Vista or Windows XP when I already own 2 legal copies is tough to take.

Service Pack 2 is a requirement for boot camp. I'm not surprised you're having issues.

See this thread about 'slipstreaming' an SP2 installation disc.

You may have luck downloading the SP2 update http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en on another computer or in OS X and then installing it on your existing non-sp2 XP installation.

If that doesn't work then you'd have to follow Cold Warrior's link and follow the guide to slipstreaming SP2 into your regular XP disc.
