Hello,

After upgrading to Yosemite I can't print with my Epson SP R270. At the same time the App Store has installed on my MBP 13 the latest Epson drivers,
I can't print. The Mac printer can't identify the printer.
I have erased the printer from my Printer control panel, and then added it to the control panel and it is there, but the printer can't print.
What can I do to convince my Mac to print?
TIA

Have you tried shutting down and quitting both the printer and the Mac and then restarting from a cold boot?

Log in to a Guest or new account and then try printing. What happens?

Where is the Guest command as well as where is the new account?

1. From the Apple icon (top left) select “Log Out [your name]”
2. When the computer restarts, selects "Guest" and then click on Return.
3. Your computer will then startup but without any of the applications you installed.
4. Then see if you can get the printer to work (you may need to reinstall the printer driver).

The purpose of this exercise is to determine if the problem is with the computer or is the result of something you installed.

Any luck?

Raygol, If you have not already, log out of "Guest" and then log back in as you normally do.

Also, how is your printer connected? Wired or wirelessly? If wired, try removing the cables at both ends, and then reinserting them.

Thanks for your continuous help.
I have returned to normal situation.
One more element: I have two Macs connected to each other by sharing the printing. My Mac was connected to the other Mac by printer sharing and until Yosemite, when this print sharing stopped to work,
I have connected my mac with the printer directly to the printer and my mac restarted to print, but the other Mac does't print via the print sharing.
So the situation is that since Yosemite the print sharing doesn't work.
Any ides as how to revive it?

...and if wireless, plug it in and try. There's a good chance that a printer that had been running wirelessly would need to be reinstalled (not just have the drivers reloaded) to establish the network connection.

Raygol,

Are you also using an Airport or wifi base station? If so, after ensuring Printer Sharing is enabled on both computers, shut down and then restart your wifi base station/Airport.

Raygol, If I have this right, both your printers work when hard-wired to your computer, but 1 computer will not print when connected wirelessly. If that is correct, the problem is with your modem router. Sadly, that is an area where my skills are woefully deficient; one of the reason I use an Airport (ease of setup & support).

I suggest starting a new thread in the Network Forum; summarizing your problem and including the name/model of your modem.

Have you removed and then reinstalled the printer on the computer that isn't printing?
