Was at a buddies house on Friday and he has a new XBOX One X and RDR2. While on his horse he comes across a couple other guys on horseback, not sure what he was trying to do but he accidentally shoots his revolver and kills the first guy, second one starts riding away to tell the authorities. Obviously he can’t let this man escape so he lassos this poor fool and plops him on the back of his horse.

“I don’t want to kill this guy here I might get seen”

Me: Hmm, any bodies of water around here?

He finds a shallow creek and we watch this man drown in 1 foot of water, loot his corpse, he had an apple on him.

11/10 would recommend

I honestly forgot I was watching a video game when he was trotting around the woods on horseback.

I spent my xmas vacation staying up far too late playing this game.

Main save tells me I'm at 22%, whatever that means, and I'm just now getting a hang of all the various mechanics, quick-swap and inventory screens, horse stuff, etc...

RDR2 is an achingly beautiful game, and I find myself turning off the map frequently and really losing myself in the immersion of it all. The attention to detail is near-psychotic. If Fallout could somehow have been draped on the skeleton Rockstar built maybe 76 wouldn't be such a dumpster fire.

To be honest, I simply don't have the time for this game, but I'm going to pick away at it little by little nonetheless. I love the hunting system, not just tracking/etc but the special requirements to net each animals best pelt. I love forgetting about the physics and trying to run or jump somewhere I shouldn't and then hilariously ragdolling down a hill with stones pelting my face. I love being thrown off my horse and then attacked by an alligator in a foggy early morning swamp. The lack of profanity is really interesting as well, despite being a gruff game of hunting, stealing, and murdering everyone keeps it clean for the most part. If it wasn't so focused on gunfights to progress the story it could pass as one of the lesser profane/ mindlessly violent games available. Theres violence abound obviously but it doesn't seem overtly mindless, and of course having to care and look out for your horse adds more mindfulness.

I cheated for 1/3 of a treasure map and netted 1 grand worth of gold bars, still feel dirty.

Yeah, I did a quick run through a chapter last night and I'm like, "Oh, this is why people rip on rockstar games."

Three or four missions that consisted of "Fight this wave of enemies" in a game where the gunplay isn't that great is peak mediocrity.

But if you play R* games for the missions, you're missing the point anyway.
