I use my iSight and iChatAV to talk to my parents in Florida almost every day (I live in Seattle). I would like to, at least send video and sound to my in-laws in California. They have a cable modem and AIM and I can text chat with them but that's it.
Has anyone done a video chat with a Wndows user with an iSight and FREE software?

You could try setting up oPhoneX...
http://xmeeting.sourceforge.net/
I've not used it, but it's supposedly compatible with NetMeeting on Windows, and works with firewire input devices (such as the iSight).

AOL is reported to be adding live video features to AIM...now that they are no longer banned from doing so. Heres hoping that they adopt Apples technology.

Yahoo is your only other option for right now. Couple things I have encountered with Yahoo IM Webcam: as mention above, the frame rate is slow; Yahoo web cam with iSight under Panther is flakey in my experience; iChatAV and Yahoo IM will NOT share the iSight signal; no audio. HTH

I use iRecordNow... It basically records your iSight ession to a small quicktime format. (Same size movie as your iChat session but small footprint).. It has a nice interface and is pretty nice. I do session with some friends back in France.. We text chat and I send them videos as files.. they love it.. Okay so I can't see them but they see me.. and U can run iChat and iRecordNow at the same time...
Yahoo sucks.. not even worth it.. U get annoyed with it after trying it once, the image is so slow. Lets hope iChat is released in Q1 of 2004 for PC as I read it somewhere. (Rumor of course)

iVisit
Free, and works on Macs to PC's.
Small video's, but you can pay a small fee to upgrade and have larger video's. Gremlin in it right now, is severely buggy audio when sending from OS X. Audio from a PC (Or Mac running iVisit in OS 8/9) is fine though. This issue will 'supposedly' be fixed any day now though.
Not brilliant, but certainly worth a look..

Use Apple's QuickTime Broadcaster.
