I have the latest PowerLogix CPU Director on my PBG4 1.5 GHz. Everything works but the thermal pane is gone. Is that because of the 7447A?

Possibly. The g4 temp sensors were always inaccurate. On 10.2 I could monitor the temps of my chips, but on 10.3+, they were gone, because apple disabled them since they were not accurate. The only way to get a real reading is with a probe.

I know Motorola dumped the temp sensor feature after the 7410 (circa 2001) and then it reappeared with the 7447. You should be seeing it. Both 7447A-based Power Mac upgrade cards I had owned showed temperatures in CPU Director.

Did you apply an OS X update recently? Because they have a habit of breaking CPU Director.

IMHO the machine is on 10.4.8 since it`s available and CPU director is v.2.35b which explicitly states to be updated for 10.4.8.

Hmmm...
