According to The Weather Channel, New York City is supposed to get up to 100F (just under 38C), while Corpus Christi, Texas is supposed to only get to 98F (about 36.6C). We sort of expect Corpus to get up to near 100 in late July, but this is pretty hot for NYC. A couple fo days ago, my sister told me that it got to 101F in Monroe, Michigan, and her late shift crew was sent home because of the temperature - while the "great deal" on electricity she got for giving Detroit Edison the power to shut off her air conditioning is no longer sounding so sweet, since they shut it off for a very long time. It was cooler here in San Antonio that day...

I think this all qualifies as "too damn hot."

Let's face it people, you're not traipsing around Afghanistan with an M249 on your back wearing kevlar body armour while people shoot at you in 113-122 degree heat. So stop whining.

Doofy has an excellent point. However, noting that, for example, this has been the hottest summer in Southern Michigan in 16 years, noting the disparity between New York and Corpus Christi temperatures, etc, is more than just whining. It is hotter in Iraq and Afghanistan this year than it typical too. It is unseasonably hot just about everywhere in the Northern Hemisphere this summer.

I know you don't see this... but it is kind of funny sad to see that you have very little reading comprehension as I stated earlier in this thread that I prefer metric in all area except temperature. Oh well. I guess you can blame the poor educational system you grew up with.

What do you have that is USA-made and not metric? A 1988 Cavalier?

Dear The Final Dakar, Waragainstsleep, Laminar, Subego, Spheric Harlot, CreepDogg, turtle777, Railroader, ShortcutToMoncton, ghporter, SpaceMonkey, andi*pandi, Athens, and imitchellg5.

To get away from this heat (Yesterday local was 101 F/37.7 C/310.9 K/559.67 R/30.22 Re, all before humidity which is a bitch in New England), I'm going on vacation up north to Canada.

Since you're all so worldly with conversions, can you please tell me: how much will I get Canadian for 37 Galleons, 15 Sickles, and 3 Knuts?
What, me worry?

Yes it's hot!

SPOILER ALERT!

Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

Cold is just a lack of heat. You should really say "unhot"

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

I see the pictures you post (EXCELLENT photography btw) and am always amazed at how heavily dress you all are. I think "Isn't it like 80ºC" down there, how are those people not soaked in sweat in those clothes?".

I could NEVER live down there. If God called me to a ministry down there... I'm just afraid of what I would have to tell Him.

If you are going to claim it is inaccurate, it would be great if you can substantiate your points so that we have something other than your feelings to debate.

Don't fault us for your poor life choices. Anyway, I hear every few years the Gulf of Mexico gives all of you above ground swimming pools.

I'm sure I'll get crucified for this but:
A. They signed up for it.
B. They get paid for it.

Which is not to say that I don't value what they do or that I can't do it, but just because children are starving in Ethiopia doesn't mean I'm not going to call out a meal for tasting like shit.
