Problem is on a iMac 233 96mb ram. The snag has followed updates from 9.1 to 9.22 where "Remote Access is 3.xx Not Installed" pops up every now and then when trying to connect to the net (RA 4.02 is actually installed with 9.22). The only apps being used are Explorer, Eudora and World Book. OS updates have temp fixed the problem or trashing the prefs for RA and Open transport then the error comes back. Today Remote Access CPanel loads ok but hitting connect hangs the machine, deleting the prefs didn't work. I changed the "connect when TCP/IP activity" to connect when needed, tried eudora to dial in then it was fine. You could then use the RACP to dial again and then all was fine. Initial thoughts were World book (using the update feature when not connected) was corrupting the RA prefs, hence the deletion fixing it. Can imagine it being a hardware fault but.....
There doesn't seem to be an update to the World Book app so i can't try that..Any suggestions as I am sure this prob will return. Cheers.
p.s. the upgrades to the OS have been updates or clean installs of 9.22
