I like "The Shot", with "heard `round the world" in small print below it.

The Shot
[heard `round the world]

Or, "Bloody George".

I only mentioned Applebee as like a neighborhood place. There is nothing I partcularly like about it. OK, one thing, there was one in my hometown that had different areas for each of the 4 local high schools. It was neat to see actual photos and items from your own school. Anyway- forget I mentioned Applebees.

I think all of these could collectively win worst suggestions in the thread.

Three Mile Island

I'm not sure if Brits would follow the reference. The name offers several interpretations, such as the only beer oasis in three miles, and an implication that your beer is of unusual potency.

There's a bar/restaurant here in Cirencester called "Somewhere Else".

They chose the name because there is a limited range of places to go to eat/drink in the evening in Cirencester and people were always suggesting "Lets go to xxxxxx" followed by "Nah, lets go somewhere else."

It's worked really well for them.

There's a bar in Rochester called "My Apartment", and another one called "My Office". I'm not sure if either is still around, though.

some local ones up here in the northeast-

the sweet spot

the dugout

benchwarmers.

the clubhouse

pretty much use a sports term whilst avoiding "the cockpit" and you're pretty much golden.

my girlfriend and I were talking about how nudists always seem to have visors, tube socks and running shoes on which led to the one nudist who has the whistle and the clipboard, and came across what could be either an awesome bar or band name-

The naked whistle.

A play on word related to the railroad tracks and railroad sidings, the idea of a wayside as being adjacent to the road, and the more colloquial use of wayside as a good stopping point on a long trip.
