Gonna be eating a bunch of ginger cookies and gingery foods -- does anyone have ideas for wine or beer that would complement ginger? My Google-fu just yields a bunch of ginger beers and ginger wines, which I think is probably not what I want.

beer wise, i'd wager a saporro or a kirin would go pretty well with ginger, pretty much anything light.

^ I'd second that, especially the sapporo.

Well, I know from experience that some sake would go well with Japanese food. Or any food.

i don't eat a lot of ginger, but i'd imagine a dry riesling would go well with it. somewhat sweet and fruity. should work.
