There are 3 Apple stores here in T.O. Sherway, Yorkdale, and Eaton's Centre. If you go to the Eaton's Centre store, you should also visit Carbon Computing a few miles east; excellent audio stuff there.

Ok, right now $1 US = $1.17 CAN.
Base MacBook in USA = $1099
Base MacBook in Canada = $1249. 113% of the price. Pretty close.

I would guess you'd get killed on taxes, though. 14% sales tax in Ontario.

You can get the tax back if you're not a Canadian citizen, don't you?

But I never tried to get my tax back from Canada.

Maybe, but don't you have to pay a custom fee when you get back?

I know people who do it all the time all they do is throw out all the boxes and mail the receipt and manuals etc back home to them. That way you can say you have owned it for a while.

Yes lots is. Not that anything will convince you there is a single good thing about Canada but for the ones in touch with reality might like to know.

Yes there are some good things. His name is Robert and he is totally cute and adorable. I call him candy cane. And my friends are nice. Some good restaurants and some good plays. But, still prefer the theatre in England.

Like always a reply from an immature Canadian. Right, there are no problems in Canada that need to be addressed. Don't you think if I could have been able to move to Europe, I would be living there now. And if you are so smart how would I do that?

ironknee look at the plus side... Monique doesn't live in Toronto nor are Canadians typically manic depressive and self loathing.

Step one.
Stop bitching on computer forums about how Canada screws up your life on a daily basis.

Step two
File for a visa in whatever problem free, utopia country you think is waiting for you.

Same way that I, as a European by birth, now live in Canada. Apply for a residence visa. If you have a BA you should be able to immigrate to both the UK or France. A simple google search will point you in the right direction.
