Just try and start or run a business in the USA. We have the highest taxes in the modern world. Why do you think unemployment is actually as high as it is. Look how many have given up and suck more tax dollars, being on welfare.

And by welfare, surely mean the high level of corporate socialism that exists here - for surely you know it's only capitalism for us poor folks... I know, stop calling you Shirley...

This thing called 2008. How is we're doing better than the rest of the world with these crippling taxes?

Taxes were higher in the 90s, why wasn't unemployment even worse then?

Small businesses, which make up most US businesses, aren't big enough to take advantage of those.

This thing called 2008. How is we're doing better than the rest of the world with these crippling taxes?
We aren't, we're being propped up by cheap debt from China, et al.

Taxes were higher in the 90s, why wasn't unemployment even worse then?
Small businesses taxes were lower, and small businesses are the ones that employ most of the USA.

Not to push the issue, but it all comes down to brilliant accountants (and lawyers). There is so much that can be done to avoid paying taxes - you can get down to an effective rate of about 3% if you have a real smart ass accountant - regardless of the size of your business. There are too many loopholes.

But you are technically correct, for most small businesses you are screwed in this country.

That's very key to your complicated loophole tax system: it really only rewards those rich enough to pay people to find the loopholes.

It isn't the rich people, it's the uber rich corporations. Rich people get taxed to hell and back, especially now that cap gains have been normalized and are on parity with where they should be. (People can argue that "we should tax them more!" but I'm not going to waste my time with them, because there simply isn't enough money there to make a difference and most of that is just jealous bullshit.) Big corporations, OTOH, that's where your loopholes live, and they're there because those corps provide 3/4 of the soft money given to political campaigns, which is smart business and a hell of a lot less than paying a legit tax rate. (Obviously.)

Great. Now a lab tech from the Dallas hospital went on a cruise leaving from Galveston. Where I just was. :/ *

My son plays a game on the tablet called "Plague". So far, the gameplay is very similar.

*(yes, I know likelihood of this person having ebola a) from little contact and b) so late after exposure is very unlikely)

I just found this bunch o'crazy in my spam folder:

Has EVERYone either forgotten or is it just willfull ignorance?
Cognitive Dissonance?

Lyme broke out in Lyme, CT — right across the sound from an Army Biowarfare Reseach Lab on Plum Island.

Our long, sick history of mass experimentation on civilians and soldiers with radioactive, chemical and bio-weapons?
Our use of said same in WW1? WW2? Korea? Viet Nam? Africa? Iraq?

Here is a for instance – feel free to follow it where it may lead you…
In the 1950s, Willy Burgdorfer, who isolated the tick-vectored Lyme disease spirochete and for whom the causative Borrelia is named, worked on artificially forcing Borrelia disease agents (like relapsing fever Borrelias) to infect new tick vectors. (Burgdorfer then used these artificially infected ticks in attempts to infect lab animals.

Or that Steere was instrumental in bringing the disasterous Lymerix “vaccine” to market?
Remember all the people who came down with the disease AFTER being injected?
Or the “Tuskeegee” methods used to develop it?

Here we go again with weaponized Ebola. Monsanto is licking it’s chops and I am sure their stock will climb precipitiously.
The CDC will not and cannot reveal that Ebola is transmitted through the air.
Because, when the Soviet Union developed an ICBM delivery system for Ebola, we did the same.
National Security, fellow citizens.
Just look at Sierra Leonne if you want a primer in how to create a pandemic.
So– there were NO protocols in place in Dallas, afterall?
Shocking.
Just like no 10-day quarrantine for travel from the affected countries.
Frieden is being held out to twist in the wind looking like a f#cking moronic imbecile.
Yes, I know that is redundant.
If you can notice that, how come all of this just floats by your noses?

Could we all do ourselves a favor and STOP using the framing of Steere and anyone else that operates within said same frame?

And why no mention of a simple cure that has been in use for millenia — colloidal silver?

One of my best friends is suffering from all this monsterous greed — she has had Lyme for nearly 20 years now.

If Goddess forbid, you or a loved one contracts Ebola — 500,000 units of Vit. C seems to be an effective cure, alongside the afformentioned mineral.

Blessings

I don't have the virus, nor does anyone within several hundred miles of me. But I do have excellent reasons to avoid ALL television and online news sources, and that IS ebola.

The biggest thing about ebola that has impacted the American people has been that it's something other new for talking heads to blather about. And, as always, they have no clue what they're talking about.
