How do I reduce the size of my desktop icons, like folders?

Remedial quiestion, I know, but I can't
seem to locate that function in system
preferences. My desktop is cluttered with
big sized folders and icons. Thanks.

Click in the Desktop (i. e. make sure no other Finder window is active). Go to View > Show View Options and decrease the icon size. It works just like for any other folder.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
