Black licorice

Don't believe the hype

Having said that I have a bottle on reserve to occasionally remind myself I don't like black licorice

There's the stuff that you make, and the stuff that you buy. The homemade variety can be quite a trip, the type legally sold in the US is fake.

Nasty, vile stuff. Tastes like crap. But then again, I don't like the flavor of black licorice either.

Meh.

I had a bottle of Sirene, it was good (Much better than most of the crud they sell and charge $60 for), but remember what it is.

Flavored Vodka.

FWIW, Absinthe (with wormwood) is legal in Australia, so they also sell Vodka infused with Wormwood. So you can have the same (supposed) effect of absinthe without the vile taste.

However, the effects of such comes mostly down to placebo it seems, so you are better off getting some real hallucinogens instead.
