So I guess I must have been the only guy watching Apple's Special Event yesterday? Nobody else has anything to say about the "Force Touch"? I for one think it obnoxious!

Why do you think that?

It's a neat idea to essentially have a "third" mouse button on a trackpad and I really want to see what the feel of the trackpad is now that it's no longer a "diving board".

Apparently, it feels exactly the same as previous trackpads, except that it adds another level of expressive gestures.

There's a little motor underneath that gives haptic feedback.

If you didn't know, you couldn't tell that it doesn't "click" - because it does.

It seems to me that it might be too complicated for people to figure out. I have seen numerous occasions with numerous individuals who are unable to figure out how the current track pad works, even after having a demonstration done.
