You act surprised that it's online.. This sort of thing is inevitable. It's just a part of life online.

I read a few threads of people claiming they received the OSX server disc 2 instead of the Panther disc 2.
Odd, when I bought my retail (Apple Store) version, everything was fine. No doubt these people were downloading it illegally. When offered solutions by other readers of going back to Apple, most balked. Gee, I wonder why? Maybe because they are pirating the software?
Hey. Here's a thought. BUY IT. And you won't regret it. :
I am a switcher and was running OSX 10.2.8 on my iMAC. I wasn't keen on another $129 either. But putting it on last night was well worth it. Seems a little quicker, new Finder is awesome (especially for switcher types like myself), Mail is better, FileVault is nifty and there are lots of subtle little improvements. And then I can't wait to dig into Xcode, of course.
I almost bought an iBook G4 last night too. Had to control the urge though. Maybe next month.

My copy's on order it's a lot easier to take when you're paying edu prices... I think I might just stay in rolled in school to keep the edu costs

Do you really want to trust a computer running a pirated and God knows what OS? I don't mind once in a while running an "evaluation" (Wink! Wink!) copy, but I wouldn't run an OS from an unknown source. Plus, scream all you want, but it's in our interest to keep Apple financially healthy.
