(man, this sucks, macnn will only allow one image per post...! click on the links for the other images...)

For Sale: Apple Titanium G4 500 Mhz Powerbook $1100

512mb ram, 20 gigabyte hard drive, DVD/CD, Apple Airport (802.11b) card installed. Model number M7710LL/A.

Includes factory power supply and an additional EmPower (airline power) adapter designed for the Titanium Powerbook. Also includes a spare, non-Apple, power adapter for home/office use. Also includes a sexy carrying handle at the back of the unit that screws into the screen hinges its cool see the photos. This Powerbook does not include factory box. It does not include factory CDs. I will include a copy of an Apple 10.2.4 factory DVD (shipped with my 17 Powerbook). I will format the hard drive and deliver with OS X 10.2.4.

So why am I selling? Its the 17 Powerbook thing. I purchased a 17 Powerbook last week and dont need both.

And, just in case you didnt get a good, close, sexy view of that, heres another heh heh heh:

So is this a perfect Powerbook? No, of course not. Its a few years old and has seen its fair share of use. There are some cosmetic flaws, but from a technical perspective, it functions perfectly. The biggest issue with this unit is that there are some slight scratches on the screen. Youll hear from a million people that the early Books has a problem of acquiring oil from the keyboard (transferred from your fingertips) and would stain the screen. There are a number of great product out there that will reduce this phenomenon, most notably the stuff from www.klearscreen.com people (recommended by Apple, of course). The Klear Screen stuff does work very well, but I still have remnants of these stains on the screen they are not scratches, as you can run your fingernail across the screen and wont feel anything, but they definitely stain the screen. The attached photos dont really do a great job of detailing the problem but any potential buyer should be aware of the problem this Powerbook does not have a perfect screen. Having said all of this, its only fair to indicate that its not that big a deal from my perspective, and, of course, Im trying to sell you something. The only time you even see the stain is if the screen background is black. Here are some photos of the screen using the utility Pixel Check:

Heres a decent shot of the stain on the screen look above the red line, of course:

So, are there other problems? Well, to be 100% candid, there is a small dent to the left of the trackpad my son dropped a wireless phone on it a few weeks ago! Doh! Kept it for a few years with no dents and then a few weeks ago end up with a dent. Figures. Anyway, here are two shots of the dent:

There are also a few scratches on the top of the unit - but nothing that impacts performance.

Hmmm. How about some more photos? Ok, see below:

So, thats it. Happy to answer questions. Happy to take additional pictures. If youre in the Chicago area, Im happy to meet up with you somewhere (or you can come over to my house to eyeball St Charles area).

Terms: if youre local, come on over and bring cash (heh heh!), if youre not local, Im happy to ship the unit to you anywhere in the world but all sales are final. I require 100% payment in full and will add shipping costs to the transaction whichever method you prefer shipping & insurance are extra and are your responsibility.

As in life, everything is negotiable.

Would love to hear from you.

Kind regards,

Dan Brewster
