Guys, please go here: http://raingrove.net/mbp.html

and take a simple test for your LCD screen..

Do you notice the pulsating screen on the left side?

Mine does... If you notice the problem, please digg it, so that more people will hear about it.

It pulsates for me, but it's the only thing that makes it pulsate. Otherwise, my screen seems flawless.

that's weird. whole screen flickers. when dragging the window, the pixels appear yellow. funky.

Nothing at all.

Regarding Expose and flickers while dragging, that should be OS/GUI level issue but definitely not a problem.

Yeah, if you drag the screen real slow the screen goes crazy.

Hell, my 12 inch powerbook screen is crap! Thanks raingrove for that site design. I would have never known otherwise. And after 3-1/2 years of use. Good thing I have Applecare. I will get right on this tomorrow.

Maybe when your site is finally ready you can get some hits the old fashioned way...by earning it.

the screen going nuts while dragging is NORMAL. that's something to do with the refresh rate of the screen.

however the flicker on only the left side of the screen, it is not NORMAL.

some macbook pros do not have this problem, many does though.

I think that the screen is "set up" to blink. It goes all weird when you expose it AND every screen I use it on blinks.

It's a conspiracy.

Everyone put on your tin foil hats.

My lower left quadrant flickers. So what can i do about this?

Is there another page I can test this at? I want a conclusive test before I bring it to the Apple store.

Mine does it with this page as well...... but other than this page, my screen is perfect......I guess it is up to the individual if it is a issue. For me, my MBP is flawless, whineless and mooless.

you are such an idiot. the background image is a static 2x2 pixel image.

oh please. next time, know your facts before arguing.

What makes you think that people have so much time at their hand only to create some visual trickery?

flickers regardless of what you have? it doesnt flicker on my Samsung and LG LCD. it flickers on my cheap Acer though. Yes, it is a DEFECT.

Try the same image on different (lower) resolutions. IT won't flicker.

Has it occurred to people that it is just an optical illusion? Look at the design of the image. Regularly spaced spots on a similar coloured but paler background. I could make that pulse in my vision when its printed on paper, never mind on a screen that has square pixels.

If you want to test it out for yourself, just use the zoom feature in Universal Prefs until your eyes start melting out of their sockets.

Um, uh, no, not an optical illusion. Most LCDs are refreshed in a checkerboard manner, and if something's not right, an opposing checkerboard test pattern will show up as shimmer or flicker.
