FireWire drive shows up in 9.2 sometimes, but almost always NEVER in OS X (5G59)

	Does anyone know how to fix this? It's really annoying REALLY it works SOMETIMES in OS 9.2 and almost NEVER in OS X (5G59) can anyone help me? what is the procedure for unplugging a firewire drive? It's right click, thenput away then unplugged right?
